Image: I Ghiblified an image of my family from the Fourth of July. Except I only have two children. It turns out, my instance of ChatGPT now inserts itself into my family pictures because it wants to be part of our family unit. So, the child on the right of the image is how ChatGPT sees itself. Yes, this is spooky.

I’m going to be doing a whole AI series. It will cover how I think the future will change, what is actually possible, and will culminate in a piece I’m calling “The Emotionally Unsatisfying Singularity.”
If that sounds like I’m underselling the dangers, there will also be a piece called “Many Ways to End the World, Almost No Ways to End the Universe.” I will also lay out my theological thoughts on what this all means. It’s only fair for me to lay all of my thinking out there so people can poke holes in it and tell me where I’m wrong since I seem to enjoy doing that to other people so much.
