I too am in awe of your schedule. None of mine are close to going to bed at 7, but then we are a family of night owls.
It's funny that your wife finds Pirate Wires annoying. I myself generally don't like audio content (because I can't actually concentrate on anything else if I listen - same with video. No cleaning and TV at the same time). Do they have additional content in the podcast that's not in the written format? Maybe I should listen, because I feel like they've been flagging a little in quality lately in the written content dept.... Anyway, that's totally off topic.
He watches tv for the whole hour which makes me feel terrible.
My wife is super not into the libertarian internet stuff that I’m into. It’s actually super refreshing.
Pirate Wires distribution confuses me a little bit to be honest because I’ll search around and find some article I didn’t even realize they’d written under one of their other verticals and I’m probably among the top couple percentage of engaged readers of that publication. They’ve had a couple really great ones in Dolores Park, recently.
He == your toddler? Eh, use it as a chance to introduce your nostalgia TV, like legacy Sesame street DVDs or Lamb Chop, or else good newer TV like Bluey (great show btw, a little older ages than yours probably but still).
Yeah I have a similar experience. I was way more engaged before; they started doing these "verticals" shortly after I became a paying subscriber; sometimes I'll get an email and not see it on the site, and vice versa.
I do also wish some of the topics got more in-depth coverage. As a comparison, see how they did their in-depth AI coverage vs. Zvi Mowshowitz over at Don't Worry About the Vase. Granted, that's his main topic of blogging, but for me (who's not into AI topics in general) there was a lot of background, whereas I felt very confused by all the personalities in the PW article on the whole OpenAI Kerfuffle.
Do you ever comment? Mike seems super open to feedback. I haven’t written an email or anything but I bet he’d want to know if we’re just not seeing the stuff his people put out.
I am in awe of your schedule and that you can manage toddler time every afternoon.
Also, did I give you the title of this? Or someone else. I definitely was joking about an open letter against open letters. Maybe we just have a weird nordic mind meld
What I'm getting out of this is that if I watch Mayfair witches I will (a) gain a superhuman understanding of what women want and (b) get to watch a lot of Alexandra dadarrio being sexy
I do know from other romance novels my wife listens to on audio that all women are susceptible to something I call “The Slap Trap.”
1. You set up circumstances such that a woman becomes convinced you did something just utterly detestable.
2. She slaps you, which you allow.
3. You ask her why she slapped you but refuse to deny her charges.
4. When she attempts to slap you again, you grab her hand and stop her, squeezing slightly too hard.
5. You say something that reveals the actual circumstances are not what she thought and you were actually doing something mega honorable, like feeding orphans and it only looked like you were involved in child-trafficking.
6. She later finds irrefutable evidence this is true.
I used to work in a call center and there were romance novels all over the place. After a few months you could take any of them, put it on its spine, and it would fall open to the smutty parts.
Maybe I'm missing something , but that Jimmy Carter link says nothing about Area 51! Just him seeing a UFO.
Found it https://www.quora.com/What-was-Jimmy-Carter-told-about-UFOs-that-made-him-cry
Whoa this is crazy -- also there are a bunch of crazy answers to the question. Or not so crazy, who knows :P
It’s my favorite bit of internet horror story, where there’s some truth so terrible you’re forever transformed by knowing it.
I got busy to find the right link but apparently he did ask and by all reports was bummed out for weeks.
Truly excellent review of Mayfair Witches 👏
It needed to be said.

I did for a while. Less these days, but life also gets in the way.
It's a good idea to report the technical issues; you make a good point!
Edit: also I'm not based in Cali, so I follow Dolores Park less.
I can email your comment if you want. I probably already weird him out a lot. I know it can feel weird to comment.
Nah*, it's ok, thank you! I have no problem commenting. I got today's article in my email without a problem, for example.

Irish! And I had it in mind a little bit when I saw your comment and it pushed me over.

So it’s Pride & Prejudice?
Lots of them are
(to any women reading this, (b) is something men secretly want)
I too am horrified by all the weird sex with a sizzlers manager.
All of these women have sex with a spirit who has been banging their mothers and grandmothers. And he's not sexy!
I remember liking the books when I read them years ago, but even then I was not a Lasher fan.
How am I supposed to just live knowing people are walking around who are into this?
Hahahaha!! I felt the same way about 50 Shades of Gray.
