This is a love story told so well. You take us on your journey showing and sharing such vulnerability and authenticity. I love so much about your writing, but one line in particular stands out for me: "She still has to carry me along with her like a balloon." Wow.
What a wonderful piece of your heart to come out of your fingers. If your relationship is anything like mine with my husband, you make each other better. That's just the way it is, forever and ever, Amen.
I don’t normally consume Valentine’s Day media, but then the genre isn’t normally graced with titles like “Shampoo Water.” This reminds me of me and my husband and by the end I was crying. Thanks for putting this out there.
There were a couple paragraphs in here that also describe my wife and I well, like one being head-in-the-sky while the other is focused on which minivan floormats to buy. Or coming in from the garden bleeding and forgetting why.
Thank you as always for your excellent writing that makes me feel so connected. And congrats on finding a wife who isn’t much like you yet still makes everything work.
It’s good to see that there’s another thing about you that is normal. Obviously, your wife knew she was going to marry you a very long time before you had a clue.
Also, it’s good to know that you are making up for lost time in the “silly“ category.

"Except, of course, I am, with deepest apologies and regrets… a person."
Perhaps you are a cat? Your wife may also be a cat.
This is really sweet! Happy Day of Love to you and your wife!
Thanks Maps.

Thanks. I feel like I make a lot of people cry.
That is awesome. I think I must have married a woman from that same delightful universe!
This is captivating.
Thanks Alison.

Thanks man. Also, you’ve got to stop giving me money. (Which I realized today you’ve done like twice now).
For those scrolling, Alex helped out with some Trust Assembly stuff at way more than the value of a subscription here.
Man, that was really something. I love how you appreciate what you have.
Love - such a mystery. And a pathway.
Thank you for your flavor of weirdness, & thank you for sharing it with us.
What a wonderful, quirky love story.
This brought tears to my eyes. You two are blessed you found each other. God bless you both!
