Would you take suggestions for Trusted People? And: if you haven’t already done so, read Stephen Fry’s most recent talk/essay on AI. It’s brilliant on its own, and he might be VERY interested in your idea.
An important comment on the footnote: since you seem to have an in with the substance people can you please ask them to fix the issue where footnotes aren't clickable in the app.
Hi there! I’m the bearer of bad news, and I’d like to inform you that your Discord link is either invalid or has expired. On the upside, you certainly achieved your goal of making it more difficult to access :]
Given that this was posted 16 hrs ago and Discord links typically last 7 days, I am assuming that you posted a broken link in the first place! You might wanna double-check your links next time~ :D
Okay, so I directly pasted this link into Discord and it said it was invalid/expired. On the off chance this had to do with my discord, I tried opening the link on the internet. Still no dice.
Might wanna take a look at your discord link settings.
Trusted info, democratically via one's tribe - I think I get the general idea, but the logistics have lost me. That's ok - I am fuzzy-headed with a sinus malaise today, & anyway, I don't really need to grasp the mechanics to approve.
I already have an array of information sources I trust, & a good BS detector, but think your assemblage will be very useful. It seems every generation or so there is another battle for the hearts & minds (or is it just ongoing?), exacerbated, these days, by lack of critical thinking helped by crumbling educational systems, digital media, AI, & (as Cory Doctorow puts it) "enshitification" of much.
It is good to be reminded that younger people are working on betterment of the world!
The thing I hope to do is that you can share those sources of good information with others in your group and get rewarded for doing so. There’s a lot of perverse incentives I’m hoping this could screen out.
I don't know anything yet but as this builds I was in a cohort of start ups backed by AP and NYT. Maybe some tangential folks would take a look? Cheers
How did you know I'd read the footnote?
I came from ACX, and I liked the essay you wrote about your mystical experience enough to stick around.
Thanks for sticking around! It’s going to be an interesting juggling act trying to figure out how to balance the weird things I want to talk about.

Please make any suggestions! Huge fan of Fry and have read the essay. He might be a bit high profile to reach, though.
Try anyway. He has a mind that is curious and receptive. I tagged him, but I am certainly not high on the Substack food chain!
Alright, I shall tag him on Notes
Damn great read, thanks for mentioning!
Yes! That essay by Fry is monumental.

I don’t have an in other than being gregarious on the internet. If you mention him in a Note I’m sure Mills would take a look.
You’ve never sounded more like a man who’s already in charge of making important decisions.
I hope that’s what you’re doing professionally.
Fingers crossed. I need to find some consistent chunks of time for this soon.

Someone set it up last week. Lame middle aged me didn’t know they timed out. Working on a new solution.

Keep us posted!
Will do!
I suspect the "Higher Trust Assembly" could be made up of everyone on the Trust Assembly who actually reads the footnotes.
Footnote readers are a special breed and they do a lot for the rest of us.

Please share with whoever you feel might be interested.
I'm creating a new Discord invite since the last one expired.
